Lately, there have been a lot of video games offering a free demo on Steam. One of the latest is the roguelite action-thriller titled Loopmancer.
The free playable demo integrates Nvidia DLSS to allow for performance boosting. This is an AI super-resolution algorithm accelerated by Tensor Cores on GeForce RTX GPUs. What it does is allow the game to be rendered at 1080p, improving frame rates. In addition, it also uses AI and game engine data to deliver the image quality of a native 4K output.
The game is set in a megacity underworld located in the Far East. Players take on the role of one Xiang Zixu, a private detective investigating the disappearance of a famous reporter. As he is following an important lead, he is suddenly murdered. Later on, he awakes in his bed and learns that time resets every time he dies. Yes, it’s that kind of game.
Following a crucial lead, he is murdered, only to awaken in his bed. Xiang discovers that time resets when he dies, bringing him back to his apartment. What the hell is going on!?
Loopmancer has players explore seven massive cyberpunk levels. Each one has its own unique design and aesthetic. Be sure to solve the clever puzzles while avoiding hidden traps or go back to square one with every death. Be sure to investigate side paths for each level to unlock seven unique endings. Remember that each decision affects Xiang and the people he meets.
