The battle for Middle-earth is headed to mobile as EA and Capital Games announced that The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth is launching May 10. It’s going to be available on Android and iOS devices.
To celebrate the reveal of the launch date, a gameplay trailer has been released. It gives an extended look at this upcoming free-to-download mobile RPG based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, particularly The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
The trailer gives both fans and players a quick peek into the stylized realism art style in the game. It also shows the different classes available like wanderers, warriors, and wizards, and how the game expands the already large Tolkien universe so that Middle-earth is more diverse and more inclusive. The trailer gives us a sneak peak as well at the Story, PVP, and other gameplay modes.

Pre-registration for the game is currently open. There are early bird rewards and the more players who pre-register, the better the rewards.
More on the Game
In The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth, players will discover a mysteriously abandoned new Ring of Power and get visions of their possible journey along with battles and adventures which feature some classic and beloved characters.
For EA Mobile and Capital Games, this upcoming mobile game hopes to give new players and fans new ways to experience the elements of The Lord of the Rings by letting them come up with their own novel experiences. This is made possible through the re-imagined "styled realism" art style which highlights the magical, animated, and fantastical elements of the characters and the world.
Of course, fans can be rest assured that the game remains grounded in reality while letting them experience the stories “between the lines” of the original canon to expand on Tolkien’s texts.
If you're excited about the game, here are the minimum device requirements:
- All devices require iOS 13 or above.
- iPhone 6S or higher.
- ARM Quad Core 1.6 GHz or higher.
- 2 GB of RAM or higher.
- Android OS 5.0 or higher.
