Madden NFL 17 is set to release tomorrow, and many are probably wondering when they can hit the gridiron and toss around the pigskin. For those that have chosen to download this year’s Madden, you’ll be able to start playing right at midnight, EDT. Good news for you West Coasters, you’ll be able to start playing at 9 p.m.
If purchasing a digital copy for Xbox One or PS4, make sure you have your console set to pre-download Madden NFL 17. Once midnight hits, you’ll be able to start playing right away. The game is 24.8 GB, so clear up space on that hard drive if you need to.
Of course, Xbox One owners can start playing Madden NFL 17 right away if they opt into subscribing to EA Access. The program allows subscribers to play EA games before their commercial release. While there is early access, subscribers will still have to pay for a copy of Madden 17 once the trial has ended. All progress made during the trial will carry over to the main game once you own it and it is unlocked.
If you haven’t heard any news about this year’s Madden , there will only be four 99 rated players to start the season. The players are JJ Watt, Von Miller, Luke Kuechly and this year’s cover athlete, Rob Gronkowski.
Gameplay has also been changed, including the new Ball-Carrier Feedback System, which helps players tighten up the running game. Defensive AI has also been updated to include new “Gap Plays.” These plays are designed to stop both a running or passing play. No word on how they stand up to a Statue of Liberty play though.
