Electronic Arts has partnered with the National Football League to bring back the NFL Pro Bowl: Madden NFL 22 Edition for the 2022 Pro Bowl. It's going to be on February 6 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The event has Cowboys Micah Parsons and Vikings Justin Jefferson go against Chargers Derwin James and Browns Nick Chubb in KO multiplayer mode.
There's also something happening on the sidelines of this competition. The event is also hoping to break the Guinness World Records title for the largest projected video game display. The record is currently being held by Garena Free Fire which had a projected screen measuring 46,733 square feet.
The event is to be hosted by Charissa Thompson with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson serving as co-host. Calling the matchup is going to be Marshawn Lynch.
As a quick recap, the 2021 Pro Bowl was transformed when it went virtual for the first time with Madden NFL 21. With more than 3.5 million live views, it became the most-viewed event in the history of Madden NFL, particularly on digital platforms. For the new 2022 Pro Bowl experience, the Superstar KO is a part of the “Play to LA'' campaign that has brought players new experiences in Madden NFL 22 in the lead up to Super Bowl LVI.
In a statement, NFL SVP for Consumer Products Joe Ruggiero shared that with last year’s success, they welcome the return of the Pro Bowl experience in Madden NFL 22. He added that combined with the attempt to break a world record, this year is sure to be one to remember. Ruggiero went on to say that the NFL Pro Bowl: Madden NFL 22 Edition is a good way for them to connect with fans beyond the traditional game.
Meanwhile, VP of EA Sports Brand Julie Foster revealed that they were able to showcase how Madden NFL could bring the sport closer to the fans. She went on to say that they’re excited to partner again with the NFL.
Madden NFL 22 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia.
