Mage Summons Another Amazing card in 'Hearthstone: Whispers of the Old Gods'

Ethereal Conjourer is no longer relevant, now that we have Faceless Summoner. Noxious just revealed this beauty of a card on twitter. It’s a six mana 5/5 Mage minion that has a Battlecry that summons a random 3-cost minion. This is the best six-mana Mage minion, by a large margin. After League of Explorers, Ethereal Conjourer was considered a good card to tech into a deck in ranked, and an even better one in arena. Once the new Whispers of the Old Gods set comes out, the 6/3 giant won’t ever see play and will be relegated to the bottom of the card pile.

Let’s talk about why Faceless Summoner is such a good card. For six mana you are promised at least a 5/5 plus whatever three cost minion you summon. That means you can get an amazing Argent Horserider or a truly terrible Alarm-Bot. It’s entirely up to RNG, which is the cards one major downfall.

It’s like a Piloted Shredder that doesn’t lose its effect when silenced. This card is going to be a staple in most Mage decks, besides Freeze mage. It may be a value powerhouse, but it doesn’t fit into the control aspect of Frost Novas and Doomsayers.

This is the second best card released in the set, with Cho’Gall being the titan of the WOTG set. Mage is going to be a really strong class in the new format, and this tentacle spawn is going to add even more fuel to that hype train.
