Via NeoGAF, new PR images from Nintendo Poland reveal Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will feature a total of five types of Battle Mode. Following the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017, we saw Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast gameplay. This image from Nintendo Poland shows there's more to Battle Modes than that:
The first star icon could be Shine Runners or Shine Thief. Next we have Coin Rush, Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast, which are carried over from Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U. Lastly, we see a brand-new icon featuring a Piranha Plant that points to a brand-new game type.
As the game title suggests, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will build on top of Wii U's original Mario Kart 8 (and all its DLC too!) and add new characters, vehicles, items maps and game modes to keep things interesting. New characters include Splatoon's Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy, plus Mario favorites Dry Bones, King Boo and Bowser Jr. New items also include the high-jump Feather and the item-snatcher Boo.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch arrives April 28.
