It’s 2017 and the Nintendo 3DS is still going strong. This year, Nintendo has a ton of awesome stuff lined up for its handheld console, including an adorable Pikachu 3DS XL. Nintendo is also releasing the one game that I’ve been waiting for since the first time I played Mario Tennis on the Gamecube: Mario Sports Superstars . The game comes out Oct. 3 and a new trailer released on Thursday, which features Mario and the gang playing baseball.
The baseball part of Mario Sports seems like it will be my least favorite, but I’m still willing to give it a chance. Watching Wario shuffle around the bases as he attempts to steal third might just be too good to pass up.
Mario Sports: Superstars will feature new Amiibo trading cards that will give you special perks in-game. What those bonuses are is still unknown. The card packs will cost $4.99 and contain five random cards, but the initial run of the sports game set in the Mushroom Kingdom will contain one card in the box.
Announced in September, Mario Sports: Superstars has five different sports in total: tennis, baseball, soccer, golf and horseback riding. I’m way too excited about being able to play as Yoshi and finally being able to ride something else. Mario has given the green dinosaur a herniated disc with all his jumping around, it’s time for someone else to carry the weight.
