A new update for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will drop tomorrow, August 5, and it will introduce Kulve Taroth into the game.
Update 1.2.0 adds a new co-op exclusive monster known as Kulve Taroth. For those who are not familiar, Kulve Taroth is a monster that is clad in gold, which covers almost its entire body.
It is said that the monster’s precious metal coating comes from the weapons of the hunters who have tried to slay the beast once upon a time.
While you cannot turn the majestic monster into a Monstie, you can still get its rare materials so that you can craft some really powerful gear.
New Monsties
Speaking of Monsties, two new ones will be available once Kulve Taroth arrives. They are Hellblade Glavenus and the Boltreaver Astalos.
The Hellblade Glavenus is said to have a breath that can melt solid rock and tail blades that can cut through mountains. If that is the case, then adding this to your Monstie collection makes sense. The Hellblade Glavenus grants the XX Blaze Kinship Skill.
For those who want to have a little spark in their journey, the Boltreaver Astalos can produce electromagnetic spheres that can trap its prey, all while dealing damage in the process. Its Kinship Skill is the Astalos Saber.
More Co-op Quests
Kulve Taroth is not the only co-op mission that you can partake in as the update will also introduce three new 8-star missions. They are the Goddess of Gold, Fire Eggs, and Thunder Eggs.
In addition, a special 4-star subquest called “Dealin’ for Dunkers” will be included.
What Lies Ahead?
Once you’ve successfully beaten Kulve Taroth several times and after crafting all of the powerful gear from its materials, you should be ready for what is to come.
Another update launching on August 19 will add new additional co-op quests and subquests. Some of the new co-op quests include 9-star missions that will require you to slay Hellblade Glavenus and Boltreaver Astalos, among others.
Keep in mind that Version 1.2.0 and Version 1.2.1 are only available on PC.
