Capcom just shared the official release date for Monster Hunter Wilds and teased the game's flagship monster, Arkveld, with key art.

The latest game in the series is set to come on Feb. 28, 2025, for modern generation consoles and PC via Steam. Players can now pre-order Monster Hunter Wilds for the game's digital versions.

New Monster Hunter Wilds Trailer

Pre-orders come with some cosmetic and minor bonuses in-game, such as the Guild Knight layered armor set and the Hope Charm talisman.

The trailer that came alongside the release date announcement also showcased some new information about Capcom's upcoming game.

The footage showed a big cinematic that detailed a bit more about Monster Hunter Wilds' lore and how its flagship monster ties into everything. The trailer also featured the new continent's jungles, rivers, and deserts.

The flagship monster that was briefly seen in the new trailer was dubbed "The White Wraith" as PlayStation revealed its name to be Arkveld. One area that was shown in the footage was the Scarlet Forest, according to SportsIllustrated.

This region is named so because of the red river that runs through it and the environment can be seen changing with the weather. A new monster was showcased in the video, Uth Duna, which seems to be an apex predator that can control water.

Hunters will still be accompanied by their trusty Palicoes on their hunts for combat or healing support. They can do a variety of things, such as gather meat and distract monsters to give you more opportunities to attack.

The reveal of Arkveld also comes alongside key art that shows more details of this believed-to-be extinct species. The monster is still shrouded in mystery and it is hunters' job to uncover the truth, the PlayStation Blog said.

The Mysterious Monster

The trailer also gave fans a look at the game's prologue, where a few years ago, a boy named Nata was rescued by the Guild. The Forbidden Lands Research Commission assembled a team to investigate the mysterious monster that attacked him.

Monster Hunter Wilds will have three types for players to choose from; Standard, Deluxe, and Premium.

These have varying prices and some have bonuses that other editions do not. The Standard Edition retails at $69.99, the Deluxe Edition costs $89.99, and the Premium Edition will set you back $109.99.

The Deluxe Pack will include a variety of cosmetic DLC, including the Hunter Layered Armor and sticker sets.

On the other hand, the Premium Edition will also have a Premium Bonus on launch, a Cosmetic Pack 1 in Spring 2025, and Cosmetic Pack 2 for Summer 2025, according to Gematsu.
