Sony's PlayStation State of Play 2024 made some major announcements for upcoming titles and games that fans are looking forward to.
The presentation was held a few days before the PlayStation 5 Pro's pre-orders are set to go live. Prior to this, there was news that the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 remasters were leaked via the PlayStation Network.

One of the titles that were showcased during the event was the VR game Hitman World of Assassination. This particular game is an upgrade for the base flatscreen game and is coming out in December for only $10.
Probably the most surprising reveal of the presentation was Ghost of Yotei, which is Sucker Punch Studios' sequel to the highly popular Ghost of Tsushima. In this upcoming title, players take control of a female protagonist named Atsu.
From the trailer of the game, the character was shown wielding two blades, a shamisen and a samurai's traditional sword. She will supposedly travel the wilds around Mount Yotei alongside a mysterious wolf companion, according to The Verge.
The developer's previous game, Ghost of Tsushima, was released four years ago. It was critically acclaimed for its quiet, contemplative moments. Sucker Punch Studios released a PC port of the game and confirmed that a movie was being worked on.
Sony's PlayStation State of Play 2024 also shared some new details about Horizon's LEGO spin-off title that is coming on Nov. 14, 2024. The game was originally announced in June earlier this year. It is set to come to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch as well as PC.
One major announcement during the event is the release date for Capcom's highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds. The latest game in the franchise is coming on Feb. 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, IGN said.
Various Upcoming Games
Astro Bot is also getting its first DLC this fall after the game was released earlier this month. The upcoming content will be free and will add five new online speedrun levels and 10 new bots for players to rescue and collect.
Another title that was showcased during the presentation was Hell is Us. This is developer Rogue Factor's third-person action-adventure game that mixes intense melee combat with exploration.
Hell is Us features faceless beings who have taken over the world and you must venture out to find a way to survive. You wield a drone and sword that come from a different age and are some of the few things that can hurt the creatures, according to BleedingCool.
