The new season of USA Network's hit series, Mr. Robot, is fast approaching. Last we saw Elliot, fsociety and Evil Corp, there was nothing but chaos. Markets were tanking, Tyrell Wellick is missing and Mr. Robot woke up wondering what the hell just happened. After a year of waiting, it's almost time for the new season of Mr. Robot. Here’s everything we know about Season 2:
'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Release Date
Mr. Robot Season 2 premieres at 10 p.m. EST, Wednesday, July 13 on USA Network. The two-episode premiere airs with limited commercials and is followed by a new hour-long live after show called “Hacking Robot.” Season 2 has 12 episodes, two more than the first season.
The following is the synopsis for Mr. Robot Season 2 episode 1, “eps2.0_unm4sk-pt1.tc.”
Five/nine has changed the world; Elliot is in seclusion; Angela finds happiness at Evil Corp.; fsociety delivers a malicious payload.
'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Cast Additions
Grace Gummer plays Dominique "Dom" DiPierro, an FBI agent investigating the Evil Corp hack.
Brooklyn emcee Joey Bada$$ plays Leon, a close childhood friend of Elliot’s (spot him in the first trailer across from Elliot at a dinner table).
Craig Robinson is Ray, a friend of Elliot’s from the neighborhood who’s there to help.
Chris Conroy plays a young man named Derek who is part of Joanna Wellick’s personal life.
Aasif Mandvi is Jesse, a special agent who is “a bit of a dog.”
Sandrine Holt plays Susan Jacobs, a member of E Corp’s General Counsel who “fits into fsociety’s plans.”
Michael Maize is a man nicknamed “Lone Star.” He’s a Texan acquainted with Craig Robinson’s character, Ray.
Dorothi Fox plays Nell, Romero’s mother.
Luke Roberton, known as RT, is an ex-employee of Ray who has some serious IT skills.
'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Returning Cast
The series main cast will reprise their roles: Rami Malek as Elliot Alderson and Christian Slater as Edward Alderson aka Mr. Robot (a figment of Elliot's imagination); Carlie Chaikin as Elliot’s hacker sister, Darlene; Portia Doubleday as ex-Allsafe employee Angela Moss and Michael Christofer as E Corp CEO Phillip Price.

Martin Wallstrom plays Tryell Wellick, though his whereabouts are unknown. Stephanie Corneliussen returns as his wife, Joanna Wellick. Brian Stokes Mitchell is also back as E Corp CTO Scott Knowles (his wife Sharon, was murdered last season and Tyrell Wellick is the primary suspect).
Someone always takes advantage of society as it falls apart.

BD Wong will expand his role as Whiterose, a hacker from the Dark Army involved with Phillip Price. We’ll likely see Gloria Reuben as Elliot’s psychologist named Krista Gordon, though the two ended Season 1 on rough terms. Ron Cephas Jones returns as the oldest fscoiety hacker, Romero (we’ll also be meeting his mother in Season 2.
'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Plot, Spoilers
Mr. Robot Season 2 picks up 30 days after fsociety’s cyber-attack (dubbed Five/Nine) on Evil Corp, an attempt to release the bottom 99 percent of America of their debts. Elliot’s first challenge will be to recover the memories he lost in the three days immediately following the hack, after he wakes up in Tyrell Wellicks SUV. If he can’t discern what’s in his head from reality, which he probably won’t (let’s be honest), Elliot’s bound to take us on a thrilling rollercoaster that’s even darker than the previous season. We’ll learn more about Elliot’s childhood by way of flashbacks, the traumatic upbringing that made him who he is today. Elliot must learn to rid his mind of his incessant delusions of his late father, but now that Elliot is at least aware that Mr. Robot doesn’t actually exist (or does he?), will he be able to control his alter ego?
Delusions grow stronger the more we ignore them.

There appear to be multiple characters associated with Ray, and considering he’s rumored to help Elliot, it’ll be interesting to find out exactly what kind of assistance Ray can provide. The FBI is going to be investigating Tyrell Wellick’s disappearance. The teasers show he is indeed the face of the madness, but that doesn’t mean Elliot is in the clear. He’s going to have to make sure he’s covered his tracks to make it out unscathed, especially since FBI Agent Dominique "Dom" DiPierro is going to be all over his shit.
