Developer Player First Games released a teaser trailer for MultiVersus' next character, Marceline from "Adventure Time," ahead of her official breakdown and release.
The upcoming character is set to join the fight game's universe in Season 4 and is set to officially release on Dec. 17, 2025. A character breakdown is expected to come out soon to showcase Marceline in the game.
Marceline in MultiVersus
Community manager at Player First Games, AJAX, dropped the short teaser ahead of the planned events. The footage showcases the 1,000-year-old vampire queen alongside other characters in MultiVersus, including her own franchise's Finn.
The teaser trailer shows Marceline floating in the air, which is something that affects gameplay as it makes her hurtbox a little bit taller. The teaser trailer that AJAX shared shows Marceline interacting with Garnet and Harley Quinn before focusing on Finn.
After this, Finn can be seen asking Marceline if she remembered her "butt-kicking boots." Near the end of the video, the latter is shown strumming her trusty guitar.
There are currently no details on whether this particular move is an attack or a taunt, according to Event Hubs.
However, it seems highly likely that this is a form of attack by the character, considering how she can be seen sliding while doing it. Many fans also noted that the trailer showcased a new emote by Harley Quinn, in which she dances while making faces.
Marceline's teaser trailer comes as MultiVersus has been slowly adding new characters and maps to its lineup since it was relaunched earlier this year. The previous character that was added to the fighting game was Raven from Teen Titans.
Season 4
Season 4 of the game started on Nov. 12, 2024, and is set to run until Jan. 21, 2024. Many fans have been requesting the addition of Marceline in particular. Player First Games also revealed a roadmap of content coming in the latest season, The Gamer said.
On top of the new characters, MultiVersus was also revealed to be getting two new maps. One of which is based on "Adventure Time" and the other on "Samurai Jack." Raven was described as possessing a half-demon, supernatural lineage.
This grants the daughter of darkness powerful magical abilities, including telekinesis, flight, soul projection, and complete control over darkness. This makes a formidable foe in Player First Games' fighting game.
A trailer for Raven showed her making use of her Mage class to use dark magic and telekinetic skills to defeat enemies. She was also seen taking advantage of her pet bird, Lenore, to assist her and extend her combos, according to Gematsu.
