Anime fans are awaiting for the second season of My Hero Academia to premiere and it may come sooner than originally thought.
According to the second volume of the My Hero Academia novel -- via Anime News Network -- the second season of the My Hero Academia anime will premiere on March 25, which goes against previous reports that the anime will return in April. The April premiere date came from November’s issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, but it appears that has changed.
The first season of My Hero Academia released in the Spring of 2016 from studio BONES and streamed on FUNimation.
“We’re extremely pleased with this expansion of our partnership with Toho following last year’s successful theatrical release of the Attack on Titan live action movies,” said Gen Fukunaga, CEO and founder of FUNimation, in a press release back in March 2016. “The excitement around this new series is palpable. Fan response to the anime will quickly rank ‘My Hero Academia’ among top anime classics such as Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and Naruto.”
We reached out to FUNimation about the reported March 25 premiere date and whether Season 2 of My Hero Academia will make its way to the anime streaming site sooner rather than later. We will update as soon as we learn more.
Season 2 of My Hero Academia was announced back in June, right before the Season 1 finale, and will cover the U.A. Sports Festival arc of the original manga.
