After a period of radio silence, Need For Speed is back at it again with a new April DLC. In fact, the new update is slated to arrive on Wednesday, April 27. That's tomorrow!
Unlike the previous update that brought us the Ford Deuce, the latest Need For Speed "SpeedLists" update will not introduce new cars, but will feature new competitive gameplay to keep the game fresh. In an effort to improve UI that will encourage more impromptu racing, SpeedLists give you a selection of Quick Play, Speed, Style and Mixed selections. By completing eac of these four different driving events, a score will be given based on where you finish the races. Finally, the scores are tallied to determine a final standing, similar to a Tournament style of score-keeping.
As with all Need For Speed mechanics, every win is translated to a boost in "rep." This update will deliver new titles for drivers that range from "Street Urchin" to the coveted "World Champion" title. The complete list of earnable titles are as follows:
- Street Urchin
- Sunday Driver
- Wannabe Racer
- Stick shifter
- True Contender
- Rising Star
- Night Rider
- Top Competitor
- SpeedList Junkie
- SpeedList Pro
- SpeedList Master
- Urban Legend
- Chosen One
- The 1%
- Top 100
- Top 10
- World Champion
In addition, a new "Prestige Events" system will be available for all of the "best events" in the game. Beat the target scores of the ultimate Speed, Style, Build, Crew and Outlaw events to prove once and for all that you are the "Ultimate Icon." A brand new App will be added to your NFS phone and enable you to select between regular and Prestige events.
Not only will there be new SpeedLists and Prestige Events, but shorter "activities" around Ventura Bay will be added as well. Drift Corners and Speed Runs are great ways to rack up cred.
Finally, new achievements and trophies for Prestige and SpeedList are available as well. Basic Bronze is awarded for winning all Prestige events. Gold Plated is awardedf or winning Gold in all Prestige events. Speed Master is awarded for winning all SpeedList events.
