In case you haven't heard, Netflix is launching a cheaper new tier but comes with ads. Dubbed "Basic with Ads," it's priced at $6.99 launching in the US this November 3. While this announcement may not fare well with a lot of subscribers, there is one important thing that you need to know. That is, ads will only be shown on movies and TV shows, not games.
Yes, Netflix has its own portfolio of mobile games. It was in November 2021 when the streaming giant first launched this feature with five titles in Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast, and Teeter Up. To download them, just have an active subscription to Netflix.

Netflix will add more games before the year ends. In June 2022, Netflix revealed that it was developing games based on its shows like La Casa de Papel and The Queen’s Gambit Chess. The company also announced other games in the pipeline, including Shadow and Bone: Destinies, Too Hot to Handle, Lucky Luna, and Desta: The Memories Between.

Back to the upcoming new tier, Netflix revealed that current plans and members won't be impacted since Basic with Ads complements the existing plans. Quick details on Basic with Ads are:

- A wide variety of great TV shows and movies.
- Personalized viewing experience.
- Available on a wide range of TV and mobile devices.
- Change or cancel your plan at any time.
- What’s different
- Video quality up to 720p/HD.
- For both Basic with Ads and Basic plans.
- Average of 4 to 5 minutes of ads per hour.
- A limited number of movies and TV shows won't be available due to licensing restrictions.
- No ability to download titles.
