Tilting Point has partnered with Netflix to offer multiple mobile games to the streaming giant, free to subscribers and won’t have ads or even in-app purchases. A total of three games is expected to be made available under this partnership.
It was in November 2011 when Netflix first announced that it was including mobile games in its service. Back then, it released five games, all available on Android. Since then, it's been slowly adding games to its portfolio. This latest agreement should be good news to fans since it means more games and more entertainment.
The first title arriving is the hilarious culinary adventure SpongeBob: Get Cooking, based on the characters from Nickelodeon. It will be followed by Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited, based on the Netflix series from Gaumont.
The third game is a collaboration between Tilting Point and Netflix, along with developer Emerald City Games. Nothing much was revealed about this game except that it’s based on a Netflix series and coming out in 2023.
In a statement, Tilting Point CEO and Founder Kevin Segalla revealed that their guiding principle has been to find ways to maximize the reach of a game. He added that they’re excited to expand the possibilities of their games through this partnership. Segalla went on to say that they diversify and publish games on multiple platforms and services, depending on where the game fits best.
Cook with SpongeBob
SpongeBob: Get Cooking was released worldwide on September 27. This cooking game allows players to explore Bikini Bottom, and even beyond, and they delight familiar customers with delicious dishes in iconic locations and restaurants from the SpongeBob SquarePants series.
This game is based on the hit game SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off, also from Tilting Point. This one received the People’s Choice Award during the 2021 Mobile Game Awards and has been downloaded more than 58 million times.
Lead the Cartel
Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited is a base-building strategy game where players take on the role of a cartel kingpin and decide whether to lead by raw power or get respect through loyalty. This game is based on Narcos: Cartel Wars.
