A new batch of NieR: Automata screenshots have been released by Square Enix, giving fans an early look at a new, forest environment and a massive castle that we’ll visit before the end of the NieR: Automata campaign. We don’t have concrete information on either environment, but this week’s images do at least feature a wide variety of new enemies from each location.
New information on NieR: Automata hasn’t exactly been abundant during the last quarter of 2016. Earlier this month, we learned the game will be optimized for PS4 Pro, and might even hit Xbox One at some point, but the last major media dump from Square Enix appears to have been the pair of trailers released during the 2016 Tokyo Game Show. But that finally changed this week when Square Enix published a large collection of screenshots from the upcoming action-RPG, many featuring content that hasn’t appeared in prior NieR: Automata previews.
Of course, the downside to getting a bunch of unmarked, UI-free NieR: Automata screenshots is that we don’t really know what we’re looking at. There are plenty of scenes of conflict, and some great outdoor shots, but something tells us the community will be more than happy to pore over the images until we get some new NieR: Automata gameplay and/or another trailer.
For a closer look at NieR: Automata , take a few minutes to review all of the screenshots in the gallery at the top of the page and/or revisit the NieR: Automata trailers published back in September. Then head down to the comments section and let us know if you’re planning to buy NieR: Automata when the game debuts next year.
NieR: Automata is in development for PS4 and PC. The game debuts sometime in 2017.
