After a lot of discussion between the two, Nintendo and Universal Studios have confirmed three amusement parks around the world will have the first rides and environments based on the popular Nintendo video games.
The Universal Studios amusement parks in Orlando, Hollywood and Osaka, Japan will be the first to get the Nintendo treatment.
Nintendo even released a video explaining how the Nintendo amusements will work and that they will appeal to all ages.
So what can Nintendo fans expect from the Universal amusements? Well according to Nintendo, the amusements will be “expansive, immersive and interactive.” There will be multiple attractions, shops and restaurants all based on the Nintendo IP.
Guests will feel as if they are playing inside their favorite games and the planning and creative process has begun. Each amusement will open separately over the next several years.
The good news is that the first Universal Studios theme park to get the Nintendo amusements will be making an announcement soon. The other two parks will have their own separate and specific Nintendo area to encourage fans to see all three.
The Nintendo and Universal partnership is one way Nintendo has begun to bring eyes to its IP. The video game company has already entered the mobile gaming market with Miitomo and its upcoming Super Mario Run (with two more mobile games in the works) and the Vans partnership brought popular Nintendo characters to shoes everywhere.
