The Nintendo Switch 2 just got its first official title with the sequel to My Time At Portia developed by Pathea Games.
The next game in the life simulation role-playing game is known as My Time At Evershine. The game has been confirmed for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S. It was also confirmed for "future Nintendo platforms yet to be announced."
My Time At Evershine
The news comes as Nintendo itself has not yet officially announced its successor to the Switch. The only information the company has given out so far is confirmation of its existence back in May.
While the My Time franchise is a popular life sims series, My Time At Evershine will have players acting as governors instead of builders. Players will only have a campfire at the beginning and will have to develop their territory into an entire city, according to Eurogamer.
The latest game in the series will also include a number of new features, such as an all-new story-driven campaign. The developer is also taking a new art direction using motion capture and expansive environments. My Time At Evershine will also have multiplayer co-op.
These features will presumably make use of the Nintendo Switch 2's upgraded power over its predecessor. This would not be possible on the current handheld console where previous games in the series are popular.
Pathea Games said that it was taking its first steps in developing the sequel and will soon launch a Kickstarter campaign for it. Series creative director Zifei Wu added that My Time At Sandrock costs around $12 million, IGN said.
He added that they expect My Time At Evershine's budget will be somewhere in that price range as well. Wu noted that having extra finances in the early stages of development lets them plan for bigger and better features.

Wu said that extra funding allows the community to give the studio direct feedback while they are still deciding key elements of the game's design and execution. There are rumors spreading saying Nintendo will announce the Switch successor sooner and not later.
My Time At Evershine's Kickstarter campaign is set to launch on Sept. 24, 2024, which is around the time of Nintendo's potential September Direct. It could all just be a coincidence or it could also be a really good marketing strategy.
The news comes a day after Limited Run Games CEO Joshua Fairhurst posted a selfie of himself outside of Nintendo of America. This suggests that a lot of developers have been visiting Nintendo in recent months, according to Kotaku.
