The Nintendo Switch family is preparing to welcome its newest member, the Nintendo Switch (OLED model) launching October 8. If you’re interested, then better save up since the suggested retail price is $349.99.
In terms of overall size, it’s pretty much the same as your standard Switch but with a 7-inch OLED screen that offers vivid colors and crisp contrast. Features of this new model include:
- Wide adjustable stand for tabletop mode
- A new dock with a wired LAN port
- 64 GB of internal storage
- Enhanced audio for handheld and tabletop play
In addition, players can play games on the TV just like your standard Switch. It also has detachable Joy-Con controllers for multiplayer fun. This is an on-the-go model as well similar to the Switch and Switch Lite. That said, a carrying case and screen protector set are going to be available for everyone.
The new OLED model can enhance the gaming experience with these play modes:
- TV mode
- Put the OLED model into the dock to play games on the TV.
- It has a built-in wired LAN port to let players enjoy another way to connect online in TV mode.
- Tabletop mode
- Flip the stand on the back and then use the screen of the new system to play multiplayer games with two Joy-Con controllers.
- The wide adjustable stand allows for a solid and sturdy foundation.
- This lets players freely tilt the system and adjust the viewing angle.
- Handheld mode
- Play games with handheld mode and enjoy vivid color with an OLED screen.
Now when the system is officially launched, it will be offered in two choices which are:
- White Set
- White Joy-Con controllers
- Black main unit
- White dock
- Neon Red/Neon Blue Set
- Neon red and neon blue Joy-Con controllers
- Black main unit
- Black dock
In a post, Doug Bowser at Nintendo of America revealed that this new model is a good choice for those who want to experience a new screen.
