Good news for fans of the No More Heroes franchise. No More Heroes 3 is finally arriving on other platforms this fall. Expect its arrival on PC through Steam, Microsoft Windows Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
The game had originally been released on Nintendo Switch back in August 2021, and it had received generally favorable reviews. For the versions arriving on new platforms, players can expect improved HD visuals, frame rates, and faster loading times.
The game puts players once again in the role of otaku hero Travis Touchdown, who realizes that being the top assassin in the world is no longer what it used to be. He has been forced out of retirement to defend Santa Destroy and Earth. For Travis, it’s not just a test of might but also for him to prove that he’s more than merely a washed-up has-been.
To make all this possible, Travis must reach the top of the Galactic Superhero Rankings and prevent the evil Prince FU and his ten alien assassins from taking over the Earth. It’s not going to be easy since a steep fee is needed to be paid to enter each subsequent ranked battle. That means Travis needs to take on different missions to get the money to join the fight. Once the required amount is reached, an invitation to the next fight is sent.
While no date has been set, publisher XSEED Games revealed that it’ll be accepting pre-orders soon for the physical No More Heroes 3 Day 1 Edition priced at $59.99. The Day 1 Edition includes:
- Base game
- 5.3”x7.3” softcover art book
- Contains at least 70 pages of gorgeous artwork
- CD featuring select songs from the soundtrack
- 7”x4” Santa Destroy commemorative biker license plate
In addition, all items will be inside a custom box that features the new original illustration by series artist Yusuke Kozaki. For the digital version, details are to be revealed soon.
