There are many management sim video games out there, and every now and then we get one that tickles our fancy. This time, it's Organs Please now out of Steam Early Access with its standard edition currently offered at 10% discount until April 13. There is also a deluxe edition which not only has the base game but also a digital artbook and the official soundtrack.
In this game, players take on the role of an Overseer of a recycling factory. The planet is dying and one way to save humanity is to build a spaceship and start somewhere new. However, not everyone can be on board. That's why players are the one to decide who gets to leave and who has to stay behind.
Game features include:
- Screen the visitors dying to get off the planet and more than willing to risk being turned into canned food, incinerated, or even hired as one of the factory’s employees.
- The pros and cons of each fate are debatable.
- Manage the factory floor, construct new facilities, and upgrade the research center.
- Resources are finite, so be sure that things don’t fall apart before the ship takes off.
- Hire staff with unique quirks, fears, and prejudices.
- Promote hard workers and keep them pampered with improved amenities.
- For the lazy ones, they can be sent to a special room which is in the darkest corner of the factory.
- Juggle orders from competing organizations and make sure to meet the weekly quota to keep everyone, especially the higher-ups, happy.
New Features
The game’s official launch means a lot of new content to enjoy. There are new checkpoint mechanics to make players sweat as they need to meet the deadline for the construction plan while ensuring that the committee is happy.
Players also get to meet the representatives of different factions, each doing what they can to convince players to take their side. For the official version, the relationship that players have with each faction can deepen and become more interesting.
There are Faction Paths as well. Each can significantly change the course of the game and even the ending. Once players choose a faction path, a special Faction Factory Sections, which produce unique goods, also becomes available.
