Baptiste was announced back in February as the newest hero to join the Overwatch roster. Jean-Baptiste Augustin plays a support role and is the 30th hero to be a part of the game. Being a battle-hardened combat medic, Baptiste can make use of a wide range of weapons and experimental devices with the goal of not only supporting allies, but taking out enemies.
In his story, Baptiste hails from Tortuga, Haiti, and was one of the millions of children that were orphaned due to the Onmic Crisis. Because of the limited opportunities, Baptiste had no choice but to join the military and be part of the Caribbean Coalition. Since he still wanted to help people, he decided to become a combat medic. After completing his military service, he found it difficult to find a demand for his unique skills. This resulted in his joining the Talon mercenary group. While it allowed him to experience the easy life, he would later learn what Talon was all about and leave the group.
Aside from his unique skills, Baptiste has a special movement ability called Exo Boots. With this, Baptiste is able to jump higher especially when starting from a crouched position.
Baptiste officially was made playable back on March 19.
