A new leak from a Chinese player gives us a good look at what some of Overwatch’s Year Of the Rooster skins are going to look like. This player found an ad for a “free week” for Overwatch to go alongside the Chinese New year event. The free trial is going to last from Jan. 24 to 31, which could be how long the actual event lasts. It’s just speculation at this point, this could just be the time frame for the Chinese free trial.
None of these skins have been officially announced yet and this could all be just an elaborate hoax. Still, it seems pretty legit and I want to believe because these skins look awesome.
There are four skins in the image all related to the classic novel Journey To The West. League Of Legends, Smite and DOTA 2 all have a Wukong in some form, it would be weird not to have Winston join that group.
The four skins, according to reddit user hythl0day, are:
Zenyatta's Tang Sanzang skin. (Sun Wukong's Buddhism master)
Winston's Sun Wukong skin. (The monkey king)
Roadhog's Zhu Bajie skin. (The pig monster, another apprentice of Tang Sanzang)
Reinhardt's Sha Heshang skin. (The river monster, yet another apprentice of Tang Sanzang)
That means we are getting at least six skins for the Year Of The Rooster, with Mei and D.Va being teased earlier this week. I am so excited for this event, these skins are pure works of art. Blizzard, get ready to take all my money.
