Overwatch has added a new character, Ana the support sniper. To further detail the new hero, Blizzard has released a free online comic, called Legacy, which can be read right here.
As the comic shows, Ana was an original member of Overwatch, acting as a sniper. She treated everyone on her team like family, and made sure to keep them safe on the battlefield. Like many dramatic stories, all that changed in one day.
While helping her Overwatch squad escort scientists to safety, Ana got caught in the fire of an enemy sniper. After chasing down the sniper, Ana finds out her foe is none other than Amélie Lacroix, better known as Widowmaker. It looks like the two have some kind of complicated history, with Ana thinking that Lacroix was dead.
The shock of seeing Lacroix caused Ana to hesitate, a move that proved costly. Widowmaker took the pause to line up a shot of her own, shooting Ana through the scope of her gun and right into her cybernetic eye.
The comic is the seventh one released by Blizzard, with the other issues focusing on Torbjörn, McCree, Reinhardt, Junkrat and Roadhog, Symmetra and Pharah. All of the Overwatch comics can be read by clicking the “Issues” tab at the top of the comic page.
