Developer Owlcat Games, along with publisher Deep Silver, has announced on the Steam community page their plans regarding their CRPG Pathfinder: Kingmaker.
A vastly improved edition of Pathfinder: Kingmaker is set for release next week, on June 6. Called Pathfinder: Kingmaker Enhanced Edition, the title is an update to the existing game and will be free to download for everyone who has already purchased the title. Pathfinder: Kingmaker Enhanced Edition is the result of Owlcat Games’ improvements made to the title, which they’ve gathered from various community feedback including forum posts on Steam and comments on social media outlets. This updated version features all-new classes, items, and abilities, which is an amazing inclusion considering the update is free. It’s also includes the numerous quality-of-life changes made to Pathfinder: Kingmaker, as well as its multiple balance adjustments.
Starting June 6, Steam owners of Pathfinder: Kingmaker will be able to download the Enhanced Edition immediately. Owlcat Games has also prepared a content checklist of sorts, including teasers, developer diaries, and streams, which you can check out on their Twitch page.
Here are some of the key features included in Pathfinder: Kingmaker Enhanced Edition:
- Available for free to all Steam owners of Pathfinder: Kingmaker
- Gameplay-enriching content including various additions and major QoL changes
- Brand-new abilities and various ways to build on your character
- Brand-new class: Slayer
- New items, weaponry and other equipment
- Improved gameplay balance, especially for the beginning part and the last two chapters of the game
- An enhanced kingdom management system that expands upon balance as well as intuitiveness for player comfort
- Increased variety of the random encounters found within the global map
- Backlog of the thousands of fixes and improvements made to the game since release, all compiled within one title
Owlcat Games has also announced that their planned third DLC, titled Beneath the Stolen Lands, will go live on the same date as Pathfinder: Kingmaker Enhanced Edition. The developer notes that while they usually release new content at the end of a month, this particular DLC has been delayed and it wouldn’t make sense to separate it from the planned release of Pathfinder: Kingmaker Enhanced Edition anyway. This is why you’ll see Beneath the Stolen Lands drop later than what was scheduled, but it is there for added convenience.
Pathfinder: Kingmaker Enhanced Edition is set for its Steam rerelease on June 6.
