The new Netflix exclusive, Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, comes out on Friday, March 18. Like most Netflix releases, the new Pee-wee Herman movie will go live on its release date once it’s after midnight throughout the continental United States. That means you’ll be able to watch Pee-wee’s first new movie since Big Top Pee-wee at 3 a.m., or midnight Pacific.
Although Pee-wee’s Playhouse has been off the air for 26 years, Paul Reubens’ most enduring character has had a renaissance of late, appearing in The Pee-wee Herman Show on Broadway and making numerous late night appearances.
All indications suggest that Pee-wee’s Big Holiday may be a worthy successor to 1985’s Pee-wee’s Big Adventure , with John Lee sitting in the director’s chair. Lee was co-creator of brilliant childrens’ show parody Wonder Showzen and two Adult Swim shows that are outlandish even for them: Xavier: Renegade Angel and The Heart, She Holler.
