Some trainers may have missed out on the Genesect distribution held in November 2016 at participating GameStops. However, just like the other Mythical and Legendary Pokémon distributed via GameStop, The Pokémon Company is giving trainers a second chance to download Genesect.
Starting Feb. 1, trainers can download Genesect via a Mystery Gift code onto their Pokémon X and Y or Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire game. While many trainers have already moved on to Pokémon Sun and Moon, by downloading Genesect onto your Gen 6 games you can easily transfer the Pokémon to Alola using Pokémon Bank.
It should be noted that if you received Genesect in November using the GameStop code, this Genesect will not be available to you.
To download Genesect, you’ll need to boot up your game and go to the MYSTERY GIFT tab. Select RECEIVE GIFT and then GET VIA CODE. Once you’ve done that, you’ll have to enter the following code:
In North America, input GENESECT20
If you’re in Europe, input GENESECT2016 and you’ll be able to download Genesect onto your game.
This Genesect will be the same as the one distributed last November. It will come at level 100 (primed and ready for some Hyper Training) with the attacks Techno Blast, Magnet Bomb, Solar Beam and Signal Beam.
The second chance Genesect event ends Feb. 28, so be sure to download the Legendary Pokémon before it’s gone for good.
