Less than a week into its life, Pokémon Go has its first update. Version 1.01 of Pokémon Go resolves some recent issues players were having with the mobile game, namely server stability and the recent security risks affecting iOS users.
UPDATE: Version 1.02 has begun to roll out, which fixes the log-in issues plaguing those who sign-in with a Pokemon Trainer Club.
Here’s the official notes from the Pokémon Go version 1.01 update:
- Trainers do not to have to enter their username and password repeatedly after a force log out
- Added stability to Pokémon Trainer Club account log-in process
- Resolved issues causing crashes
- Fixed Google account scope
Not noted in the version update is how your phone will ask to allow Pokémon Go to notify you. This would seem to indicate that Niantic will allow the app to notify you when you are out catching Pokémon.
It’s still uncertain how the Pokémon Go notifications will work, but we will update as soon as we learn more.
Android users looking for Pokémon Go version 1.01 may have to wait a little longer, as it is not available on the Google Play Store at the time of this writing.
UPDATE: There is an update for Android devices.
We will continue to update when the Android version receives the update and any other updates not noted in the app notes. In the meantime, let us know what you hope Pokémon Go updates in the future in the comments section below.
