Tomorrow marks the beginning of April and you know what that means right? It’s April Fool’s Day and what better way to celebrate it than to meet tricky and mischievous Pokémon. Expect several Pokémon prone to mischief to appear more in the wild in Pokémon GO.
There’s an upside to all of these. It seems they’re also causing trouble for Team GO Rocket. This is your chance to finish the Team GO Rocket Timed Research and even rescue Shadow Zapdos. The event is only good for a day from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., local time.
Here are the details of this event:
- Pokémon prone to mischief appear more often in the wild. These include:
- Aipom
- Croagunk
- Purrloin
- It seems Team GO Rocket Grunts only have Shadow Aipom on their teams during the event.
- Team GO Rocket appears more often at PokéStops and in balloons.
- The Team GO Rocket Timed Research launching during this event is available from April 1 to April 8.
- Finish it within the period and earn a Super Rocket Radar as well as other rewards.
- The switch timer in the GO Battle League is cut in half.
- Take a few snapshots for a surprise.
- Ditto appear more frequently in the wild during the event.
- Be sure to catch Pokémon that Ditto is known to transform into.
Referral Program is Live
It was sometime in the middle of March when Pokémon Go announced the launching of a referral program. This was a way for Trainers to invite friends to play the game and get gifts. The first Trainers to test this new feature were from Australia.
The Pokémon GO team revealed that this feature is now live worldwide. How does this work? Below are the steps:
- Go to the Friends screen and tap Invite to get a referral code.
- Share that code with a friend who’s new to Pokémon GO or who hasn’t played in at least 90 days.
- Once they input the referral code - either during the sign-up process or later on the Friends screen - the two of you start receiving rewards.
- As your friend reaches milestones on their journey, you both receive more rewards.
Time to play and bring in your friends.
