The Pokémon Go Generation 2 update not only brought 80 new Pokémon and items to the mobile game but it also changed how older Pokémon battle.
Changes to attack power and Combat Power (CP) are nothing new for Pokémon Go but now that the Gen 2 update is here, this may be the biggest change to battling yet.
The Silph Road has begun to document plenty of the changes to Pokémon’s CP and to attacks (as well as the introduction of new attacks) with the help of many Pokémon Go players.
Lapras seems to be the only one hit with a massive nerf in this new update. The amount of power taken away from the Water and Ice-type Pokémon is not known but it’s universally seen as the only Pokémon (so far) with its base stats decreased.
Some of the new moves introduced in the Gen 2 Pokémon Go update are: Zap Cannon, Dragon Tail, Avalanche, Air Slash, Brave Bird, Sky Attack, Sand Tomb, Rock Blast, Infestation, Struggle (Bug), Silver Wind, Astonish, Hex, Night Shade, Iron Tail, Gyro Ball, Heavy Slam, Fire Spin, Overheat, Bullet Seed, Grass Knot, Energy Ball, Extrasensory, Futuresight, Mirror Coat, Outrage, Snarl, Crunch, Foul Play, and Hidden Power.
Also, no move in Pokémon Go has more than three charges to use their most powerful attack. This will make for some quicker battles.
There’s going to be a lot of changes being reported now that the Gen 2 update is here so keep checking the Silph Road and iDigitalTimes for more Pokémon Go updates.
