June has yet to end but this early, we already know one of the activities happening next month in Pokémon GO. The Community Day of July 2022 is on July 17, featuring Starly. Expect to see this Starling Pokémon appear more frequently in the wild.
Meanwhile, trainers who can evolve Staravia, which is Starly’s evolution, during the event can get a Staraptor that knows the Fast Attack Gust.
Event Bonuses
Of course, it won't be an event without bonuses, and for the July Community Day these are:
- 3X Catch XP.
- 2X chance to receive Starly Candy XL from catching Starly.
- 2X Candy for catching Pokémon.
- Lure Module Icon - White
- Lure Modules activated during the event last for three hours.
- Incense activated during the event lasts for three hours.
- Trades made during the event and up to five hours afterward will require 50% less Stardust.
- One additional special trade can be made during the event and up to five hours afterward for a maximum of three for the day.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise.
Bonuses for Groups
There are also bonuses to be given to groups during the Community Day. If trainers are about to catch enough Pokémon from a single Lure Module, the 3X XP bonus for catching Pokémon near the Lured PokéStop is increased to a 4X bonus XP for 30 minutes. Work together with other trainers to unlock the additional bonuses.
Special Research Story
For the July Community Day, there’s a Starly Community Day–exclusive Special Research story titled Field Notes: Starly. Trainers can access this by getting a ticket, priced at $1.
Raid Battles
As mentioned, the Community Day is on July 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m, local time. Now just because the event is done, it doesn't mean trainers can head home and relax. Four-star Raid Battles are happening from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., local time, featuring none other than Staravia.
Once this Pokémon is defeated, trainers can expect to encounter Starly. Starly will appear in a 300-meter radius around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes. Those lucky enough could even encounter a Shiny version.
As a reminder, the Raids can only be accessed with Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes. Remote Raid Passes can't be used.
