Pokémon Go is awesome and a ton of fun, when you can actually play it that is. Since launch, the Pokémon Go servers have been spotty at best, with many people (yours truly included) having issues logging on.
Thankfully, website http://cmmcd.com/PokemonGo/ has made a helpful tool to check if the Pokémon Go servers are up and running, or crashing and burning. The site even shows the different server locations across the world, including the United States, multiple locations in Europe and more. Check out the status of your regional server right here.
If you are still having trouble logging in, try out some of our helpful troubleshooting tips. When in doubt, simply force quit the Pokémon Go app and restart your phone. That should fix most problems. If not, check out the official “Known Issues” thread on the Pokémon Go website. Unfortunately, the game is still brand new, so unexpected bugs and other issues could be popping up. Video game development, especially one with as massive an influx of users all at the same time, can be a fickle beast.
Assuming developer Niantic gets things under control, expect to have a much smoother Pokémon Go experience over the next few weeks.
