The Pokémon Go Trading update has still not dropped but some data miners have discovered the code for Trading inside the latest update.
According to PokémonGoHub, Trading in Pokémon Go will be part of the main menu where you can search for “Trading Players.” When you find a trading partner, you will have options to “create,” “cancel” and “complete” any trade offers.
Pokémon Go players will only be able to trade Pokémon (there isn’t anything else you can trade over in the game, really.)
The data miners could not determine how far the range to trade Pokémon is and that it is too early to tell if trading Pokémon in Pokémon Go will be a worldwide option, similar to the GTS in the main Pokémon games.
The ability to trade worldwide will help trainers “catch” the elusive regional Pokémon, Tauros, Mr. Mime, Kangaskhan and Farfetch’d. However, don’t give your hopes up if you’re hoping the GTS comes to Pokémon Go.
Pokémon Go will also retry to connect with a trainer if the connection is lost.
Trading in Pokémon Go was eluded to in the first trailers and information for the popular mobile game back in late 2015. However, Niantic has pushed other big updates that were not expected like the Buddy System and Appraisal Features .
Niantic CEO, John Hanke has stated numerous times that trading is a priority for Pokémon Go but with trading present in the coding of the latest build, it may only be a matter of time until Pokémon Go players can trade.
So what do you think of the prospect of trading in Pokémon Go? Do you think it will work well with Pokémon Go ? Sound off in the comments section below.
