The latest update for Pokémon Go is ready to roll out and iOS 1.11 and Android 0.41 version updates will bring catch bonuses and improved Gym training.

While these new features may seem minor, they will make catching certain types of Pokémon much easier and gives trainers a reason to catch all of those Rattata while also making training in your Team’s Gym simpler, making it easier to strengthen Gym Prestige and gain experience (and coins).

The new Pokémon Go catch bonus feature will let trainers have a better chance of catching Pokémon of a specific type. The medals awarded for catching 10 of a certain type of Pokémon will now be indicators of your catch bonus. There will be tiers, which increases the catch rate in Pokémon Go every time you reach a new milestone.

As for Gym Training, trainers can enter their Team’s Gym and spar with others. What changes is that now the CP of the Pokémon being stored at the Gym will be adjusted lower depending on your level. This will make it easier to take down Pokémon while making yours stronger.

Here are the official patch notes from Niantic and the Pokémon Go team and let us know your favorite part of the Pokémon Go 1.11 update in the comments section below.

  • Catch Bonus: Trainers can earn a catch bonus for a Pokémon type as they catch more of a specific type.

  • Updated Gym Training: Trainers can now bring six Pokémon to battle at friendly Gyms. The CP of the Pokémon you are battling may be temporarily adjusted lower for your training session.

  • Egg & Incubator Screens: These will periodically update the distance walked without the Trainer needing to close and reopen the screen.

  • Fixed several audio issues.

  • Decreased the evolution animation time.

  • Minor fixes
