Attention trainers! It's that time of the year when everybody can have fun in the sun. The Water Festival event returns to Pokémon GO and marks the official debut of the "sandy" Pokémon.
Water Festival: Beach Week starts from June 6 at 10:00 a.m. (local time) to June 12 at 8:00 p.m. (local time). Making their official debut are the Sand Heap Pokémon Sandygast and Sand Castle Pokémon Palossand. For those not well-versed in Pokémon, Palossand is an evolution of Sandygast.
This event only features one bonus: 4× Rainy Lure duration.
Global Challenge
During the event, trainers are invited to take on a Global Challenge and must work together to meet the goal of 300 million Nice Throws. If the goal is met, everyone gets these:
- Increased Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
- Increased chance for trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
Spotlight Hour
In celebration of Water Festival: Beach Week, an event-themed Spotlight Hour is set to run on June 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (local time) featuring these Pokémon:
- Krabby
- Kabuto
- Corphish
- Clauncher
- Crabrawler
By the way, Spotlight Hour comes with a 3× XP bonus for catching Pokémon.
Timed Research
An event-exclusive Timed Research is available but trainers have to shell out $5 to access it. Those who can complete the research tasks get a surfer pose for their avatar and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
The Water Festival: Beach Week Timed Research Ticket is available in the in-game shop from June 6 at 10:00 a.m. (local time) to June 11 8:00 p.m. (local time).
