Pokémon Masters EX is celebrating its third anniversary this year. Players can look forward to getting new sync pairs as well as enjoying new game modes and events. The highlight, of course, is being able to fight as Ash, a first in a Pokémon video game.
Ash is, obviously, partnered with Pikachu to form an Electric-type sync pair. They release moves like B Thunderbolt, a formidable attack that increases in power the higher the Move Gauge is. There’s also Best Buds 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt, a cinematic sync move that features Pikachu donning a cap to deploy. Players can add Ash and Pikachu to their teams through the Ash Master Fair Scout until October 16.
Special Events
Aside from being able to obtain Ash and Pikachu, there are also Special Events that feature the duo:
- Blazing Battle with Ash
- Ash enters a tournament hosted by Lear for Trainers who have just arrived in Pasio.
- It features stories and battles.
- This event is available until October 16.
- Challenge from Ash
- Players can face Ash in a heated battle, as well as a daily battle, Daily Training with Ash.
- Get the chance to earn as many as 3,000 Gems.
- This event is available until September 26.
- The Classic Thunderbolt
- Players get to face off 1-on-1 against Ash and Pikachu with their Main Character and Pikachu.
- This event is available until October 16.
Celebrate the Third Anniversary
As part of the celebration, players can now enjoy the new game mode called Trainer Lodge. In this one, players get to interact and build friendships with the many Trainers that have gathered in Pasio. Some of the Trainers can be invited as guests to the Trainer Lodge and players can gift them presents, discuss various topics, and obtain Scrapbook Photos and Friendship Stories. Players can also send them off on expeditions with other Trainers to explore and earn rewards.
There's also the Three-Year Celebration Log-In Bonuses, where those who log into the game once until October 2 get 3,000 Gems. However, those who log in for 14 days until September 13 get an extra 3,300 Gems.
Meanwhile, players who log in until September 14 can get a 10-Pair Scout Ticket, which can be exchanged for 10 sync pair scouts. In addition, players who log in for 10 separate days throughout this period can get as many as 10 total 10-Pair Scout Tickets, which is enough to scout 100 sync pairs. The 10-Pair Scout Tickets need to be used by September 21.
Pokémon Masters EX is a real-time battle and strategy game available on Android and iOS. The game is free to start but has in-app purchases.
