The latest Pokémon Sun and Moon trailer revealed some version exclusive Pokémon and other new features coming to the Alola Region.
But with every Sun and Moon information dump there are hints and more information that is not readily available. This time around, the infamous Chinese leaks got another one right and Rockruff’s evolutions are confirmed version exclusives.
However, there seems to be more Sun and Moon information.
PASSIMIAN CONFIRMS CHINESE LEAK
The first new Pokémon shown off in the latest Sun and Moon trailer was Passimian and immediately, the rugby monkey pointed to the infamous Chinese leak that appeared online not too long ago.
In the leak, the concept art of the final evolutions of the starters was confirmed to be an archer, wrestler and siren.
The leak also confirms that there are no Gyms in Alola, but that you will eventually create a Pokémon League when an Elite 4 appears. The leak also confirmed Rockruff’s evolution will be a werewolf (not too difficult to predict) and that Marshadow, a trademarked name alongside Solgaleo and Lunala will have a unique type combo.
However, the biggest part of the leak was that new Pokémon will be based on a dolphin, sea cucumber, snowman and a rugby monkey. We have the sea cucumber and now the rugby monkey, so Pokémon fans should expect a dolphin and snowman in the near future.
NEW TOUCAN POKEMON?
Trainer customization is back for Pokémon Sun and Moon with a lot more ways to customize, including dying of hair and a lot more clothing options (and the option to not have a hat).
However, one quick scene of some of the female trainer’s clothes shows a new top that seems to have a Toucan on it.
This may not seem like a big deal but The Pokémon Company has a history of putting Pokémon designs on trainer’s shirts starting in X and Y , and we’ve already seen some in Sun and Moon .
Add the fact that there are no “normal” animals in the Pokémon world may point to a Toucan Pokémon coming to Sun and Moon.
The Pokémon Company could just be using this as a cool design but it’s interesting to think about.
LYCANROC’S STARTER LINK?
Rockruff’s evolutions were officially revealed after they were leaked in CoroCoro and its evolution, Lycanroc, has been confirmed to have a different form based on the version you are playing.
Midday Form goes to Sun owners while the Midnight Form goes to Moon players.
However, ever since Rockruff was revealed in CoroCoro months ago, there’s been a secret it shared with the Alola Starters teased.
There hasn’t been evidence of what this secret link between Rockruff, Rowlet, Litten and Popplio may be but a lot of people speculate that the starters will also have a second form for its final stage.
The aforementioned Chinese Leaks revealed that Rowlet evolves into an archer, Litten into a wrestler and Popplio into a siren but what if the version you own determines the form?
What if the archer and wrestler are the Moon version evolution of Rowlet and Litten and the siren appearing in Pokémon Sun?
Here is the official description of both Lycanroc forms:
“In the world of Pokémon Sun , Rockruff is bathed in profuse amounts of solar energy, and Solgaleo’s influence causes this Pokémon to evolve into Lycanroc’s Midday Form. In the world of Pokémon Moon , Rockruff is bathed in an abundance of lunar energy, and Lunala’s influence causes this Pokémon to evolve into Lycanroc’s Midnight Form.”
If these four Pokémon do have a connection, why can’t Solgaleo and Lunala affect the starter’s evolutions?
The next Pokémon Sun and Moon information drop will be Oct. 4 and the games will drop Nov. 18.
