This story is about the download time for the Pokémon Sun and Moon Demo. Information on the release time for the full retail version can be found here.
The Pokémon Sun and Moon games are not releasing until Nov. 18 but a special demo will be made available a month earlier for those trainers anxiously waiting to enter the Alola Region.
Like with the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games in 2014, trainers were able to play the special demo and receive two Mega Stones for Glalie and Steelix but in Sun and Moon, the once-thought anime exclusive Ash-Greninja will be available to obtain and transfer over.
UPDATE 2 (8am EST): Europe has the Sun and Moon demo. Reports say North America will receive the demo at 10 am EST
UPDATE: As of 11 pm EST, the Sun and Moon demo has been rolled out in Australia and the North American eShop is undergoing maintenance.
But what every Pokémon fan wants to know is when the special Sun and Moon demo will appear in the Nintendo eShop.
While the timing of software appearing on the Nintendo eShop is not as formulaic as Netflix releases, we do have some clues as to when trainers can start downloading the demo. According to Serebii , in the European Nintendo Download press release it states that the Sun and Moon demo will be released in the “late morning.”
Whether that is the same for all regions or if there will be a simultaneous release around the world is unknown but if it is a simultaneous release we can extrapolate when North America trainers can download the demo.
If the Sun and Moon demo releases around 11am British time (before the afternoon begins), that means it will be released at 6am EST (that’s 3am PST).
If it’s not a simultaneous release, then we can presume the Sun and Moon demo will also be released in the “late morning.” Meaning, before noon hits on the East Coast.
Again, this is not a perfect science and every software in the Nintendo eShop appears at different times or can be delayed but we will continuously update when we learn more about the exact timing of the Sun and Moon demon.
