Junichi Masuda delivered and the May 10 Pokémon Sun and Moon announcement has revealed the release date, the starter Pokémon and the box Legendary Pokémon.
There’s a lot to dissect from the video but first you should check out the official video for Pokémon Sun and Moon below.
The Japanese Pokemon YouTube account had a different trailer for Sun and Moon, confirming the Hawaii theme and what looks like trainer customization. Check it out.
First off, we have the official release date for Pokémon Sun and Moon. Nov. 28 will be the day that trainers will get to visit the new region (called Alola) and get to choose their new Starter all over again.
And speaking of Starter Pokémon, we have the region’s starters revealed.
The first is Rowlet, the Grass/Flying owl Pokémon.
Litten is the Fire cat Pokémon.
And Popplio is the Water seel Pokémon.
There's a bunch of new gameplay revealed in the May 10 Pokémon Sun and Moon info dump where we see our new protagonist (unfortunately we don't see if we can customize them, just yet) but we see our tropical new region and the protagonist's movements seem like they move differently.
But besides that, we get the box Legendary Pokémon of Sun and Moon. The Sun Legendary looks like a Lion and the Moon Legendary is a bat, which coincides with the name leaks that popped up weeks earlier. The Sun and Moon trailer didn't confirm their names but the leaks will more than likely be the official ones. Guess we'll wait for this month's CoroCoro for it.
Masuda revealed that May 10 would be the day that fans would finally get information on Pokémon Sun and Moon, stating on his blog that fans have been waiting patiently and that this would give us the information we wanted. And he was right.
