Pokémon Sun and Moon are officially the fastest-selling games in Nintendo history in the Americas.

After becoming the most pre-ordered video games in Nintendo history, Pokémon Sun and Moon have gone on to sell a combined 3.7 million units in less than two weeks since their Nov. 18 release date.

For some context, Sun and Moon demolished the previous record by 85 percent, set by Pokémon X and Y back in 2013.

“With these huge sales figures, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon have proved themselves as two of the hottest video games to buy this holiday season,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of sales and marketing in a press release. “With great reviews and outstanding fan response, these next iterations in the Pokémon series are sure to please any player in the family.”

Pokémon Sun and Moon had a lot of factors going for it enroute to its record-breaking sales figures. This year marked the 20th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, and The Pokémon Company and Nintendo were celebrating with a slew of new Pokémon games and merchandise including Pokken Tournament and the re-release of the original Pokémon trading cards as well as Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow on the eShop.

Not to mention that Pokémon Go became a global phenomenon over the summer, which increased sales of older Pokémon games like X and Y, and Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire as well as Nintendo 3DS hardware sales.

There’s also the fact that Pokémon Sun and Moon are the best games in the franchise’s history (according to us, anyways) by changing up the 20-year-old formula and giving fans old, new or lapsed a fresh adventure.
