Good news for console players of PUBG: Battlegrounds. Update 18.2 is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The highlight of the update is the introduction of Deston, the largest, densest, and tallest map so far in the game.
Deston is an 8x8 map that gives a dense urban setting with tall vertical buildings, rolling hills, plains, and swamps. The map gives players the chance to experience fun gameplay and realistic battlegrounds; the new map also brings new gameplay mechanics. The Ascender, for example, is a motorized pulley attached to the walls in some of the buildings in Deston. Players can also take advantage of the Emergency Parachute and avoid ending the match prematurely.
New Weapon
In addition to the new map, the update also introduces the O12, known to many as the world’s fastest shotgun. In addition to being a high-capacity weapon, it’s something powerful in close- and mid-range combat; it’s only available in Deston. See the complete patch notes for 18.2 here.
Expanded Support for Consoles
The update for the console brings some improvements to the platform. Back in April, it was revealed what graphics level the team was targeting and the technical issues they faced, which led to the developmental delay.
Since the game is very sensitive to memory usage on consoles, the team worked on optimizing that first and their efforts improved the graphics. In addition, the support from the platform holders made it possible to differentiate between the previous and current generation consoles.

ICU Royal Rumble Invitational
The UK console community is in for a treat as Ice Cream Uploads is hosting a tournament on July 30. A total of 16 players are invited and each one can recruit their own roster. There are going to be four competitive games and two “show games” done on Deston, Erangal, and Miramar.
PUBG: Battlegrounds is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, Android, and iOS.
