The year 2022 was great for games because we received incredible titles like Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War Ragnarök. There were also some pleasant surprises like Sifu, Stray, and Neon White. However, there’s a good chance that 2023 will be even better.
A ton of games initially planned for 2022 were delayed to next year. That’s why Q1 2023 is filled with solid AAA games that we are excited about, and we have mentioned our most anticipated titles below.
Forspoken – January 24
Developed by the studio behind Final Fantasy XV, the game will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5 and PC. Forspoken will be a console-exclusive for two years, with a possibility for an Xbox port in 2025. The game takes place in the fictional world of Athia where players control a New Yorker named Frey Holland.
Dead Space (2023) – January 27
Dead Space (2023) might not be a completely new game but it will be the first DS experience for many players. The remake of the original 2007 title is coming exclusively to new-gen consoles and PC. Sadly, this is one sci-fi horror game that PS4 and Xbox One players won’t be able to enjoy. The developer has already proved itself with Star Wars Squadron — a brilliant space combat game, so we have high hopes for this upcoming title.
Hogwarts Legacy – February 10
The upcoming RPG set in the universe of Wizarding World was initially planned for this year, but some necessary delays pushed the game to 2023. Hogwarts Legacy seems like the perfect game that Potterheads have been waiting for decades.
The game is arriving on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch version planned for release at a later date.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor – March 15
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was the best SW game in a decade when it was released. So naturally, many fans are excited about its sequel. The release date and other details about the game were accidentally revealed by Steam. EA also plans to reveal the first gameplay footage at The Game Awards 2022.
Resident Evil 4 Remake – March 24
Yup, we have another remake on our list. Resident Evil 4 is a game that no horror fan should miss. Play as the iconic character Leon S. Kennedy and rescue the president's daughter. The game is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Weirdly, it won’t be available on Xbox One. A PS VR2 version of the game is also in development.
