Could anything make the 2016 primary and presidential election more volatile? The return of Rage Against the Machine could certainly ramp up the intensity. ProphetsOfRage.com, a RATM countdown website, definitely hints at a Rage Against the Machine 2016 tour that could include Public Enemy.
The Prophets of Rage site, which is currently down, asks visitors to enter their email address. According to Pitchfork , once fans sign up they receive an image with the caption “‘Clear the way for the prophets of rage,’ a lyric from the Public Enemy song "Prophets of Rage.'"
No one associated with the bands, including Zach de la Rocha, Tom Morello nor Chuck D, have commented on the Rage Against the Machine return, but Chuck D has been posting RATM videos on his YouTube channel. Morello has been posting a lot about the 2016 political season, including a nod to an unfortunate Donald Trump for President prediction from an old Rage video.
Rage Against the Machine have not played live since 2011 and have not released an album since the Bill Clinton administration.
Pitchfork also points out that posters featuring the raised fist image associated with Rage Against the Machine and the Prophets of Rage website are springing up around the Los Angeles area, which is the band's hometown.
