Rainbow Six Siege’s Colorful tournament just concluded its eighth playday for winner bracket matches. The tournament has a prize pool of $1,500, which is a pretty high amount for the South Asia competitive scene. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all the matches will be held online instead of the more traditional LAN environment. The prize pool of the tournament will be split and awarded to the top two teams who will compete in the finals. You can find the prize pool details here.

The ongoing Colorful tournament is a double-elimination based competition, where teams will have to win every match or drop down to the loser bracket. You can watch live streams of every game on the Colorful Bangladesh Facebook page.

The eighth playday had a really exciting match between MercenarieZ and Virtual5 Esports. We got to see a team that played in the South Asia majors and a team that is rising to strength face off against each other. The match was played on Clubhouse, which is a very strategy-heavy map. The match was really fun for the viewers to watch, as we got to see V5 countering MrcZ really well. This allowed V5 to take the first map with a 7-4 scoreline.

The second map was played on Oregon, which is a defender-sided map due to the current shield meta. MrcZ were able to go 3-3 on their attacking half, which is decent. That said, MrcZ was able to shine on defense. They didn’t drop a single round, which allowed them to take the map with a 7-3 scoreline.

The third map was played on Villa, which is a utility-heavy map. While both teams are well-versed with the map, V5 were able to frag better and they won the match with a 7-4 scoreline. This match dropped MrcZ to the loser bracket.

The final loser bracket match has been determined, which will be between LevelZero Esports and MrcZ. The winner of the match will meet V5 in the finals.
