The NA Six Invitational Qualifiers match between SuprSoniqs and Rentfree just concluded. The matches were played in a best of three series. The teams were almost non-pro league, which made the series interesting to watch.
Soniqs had a pretty solid roster before the NA Qualifiers. They probably could have won the series with that roster. But the roster changed due to COVID-19 issues.
The first map of the series was Villa. Soniqs' aggressive plays like jumping out the study balcony helped them win rounds. Soniqs played extremely well with their frag game too. Yet they were terrible when it came to denial/execution. Soniqs even had bad positioning, like in the vault to astronomy and in the classical hallway. These favored the opposing team. Even in the final round, Soniqs made mistakes that led to their defeat. Rentfree took the first map with a 7-5 scoreline.
The final map was Coastline. Both teams played splendidly during the first half, which resulted in a 3-3 tie. However, Rentfree played much better on defense. They used operators, such as Maestro and Smoke, to deny Soniqs. They also had operators like Jager and Vigil to roam the map. Rentfree’s roam setup for the hookah defense was pretty common. Soniqs just didn’t bother clearing them from 1F. This made it difficult for Soniqs to counter Rentfree. Rentfree was able to play on C4 that stopped Soniqs from planting. Rentfree won the match again with a 7-5 scoreline.
