The EU Six Invitational Qualifiers match between MKERS and Tempra just concluded. The matches were played in a best of five series, and only one team qualified for Six Invitational.
The first map of the series was Consulate. Watching Tempra play was super fun, as their coordination was on point. Tempra, on Round 7, rushed the lobby site from the lobby door and windows. This allowed them to get the plant down under 30 seconds. MKERS tried to stop the rush, but Tempra had covered each other quite well.
Tempra, on Round 10, also displayed their amazing team rush coordination. Nicolas "P4" Rimbaud jumped in from the connector window. While the rest of Tempra spread across the map looking for an opening. Jumping into the connector window, especially during the early rounds is one of the riskiest plays anyone can make. However, he did successfully and made sure his team got the plant down.
Yet it was a shock when MKERS won the map with a 7-5 scoreline, despite Tempra's phenomenal play.
Tempra managed to take Villa with 7-2, though MKERS somehow managed to take Kafe. It was quite surprising to see a regional team dominate a T1 team. This obviously got the attention of many viewers and pro players alike. It seemed like MKERS had too much information even without running operators like Valk and Maestro.
The final map was played on Clubhouse. The match was entirely about frags, which something MKERS is good at. Alessio "Aqui'' Aquilano from MKERS topped the leaderboard with 16 kills. That included some of his excellent shots. MKERS victory means they are the first Italian team to qualify for Six Invitational.
