The new limited-time event for Rainbow Six Siege starts today. Rengoku introduces players to a new control area game mode that comes with unique Kiba loadouts and fast respawn. This should allow for a fast-paced and action-packed event. The event ends May 17.
The event is set in Japan and unveils a temple in the sky and a fight for eternity. In this one, Operators are Samurai warriors possessed by spirits fighting for the honor of the gods in a revisited Skyscraper map.
The Format
For this 5v5 control mode, players need to stay near altars for five seconds unopposed to score control points or steal control points from the opposing team. It’s not going to be that easy since control points change location every two minutes. The first team to reach 300 points wins!
The Warriors
During this fight in the clouds, Operators won’t be taking on their normal attacker and defender roles. Instead, they’re dedicated entirely to their temporary divine patron in search of sacred flames.
On one side, The Devoted fights for The Sun’s victory. They are:
- Fuze is called Homura and is heating up for the confrontation.
- Capitao, as Masurao, slithers into position to strike.
- Zofia, now known as Kagerou, is more than ready to burn at the chance to get started.
- Twitch, under the guise of Kagaribi, prepares a good harvest in this battle.
- Osa, now called Kasumi, scouts the area to pave the way.
The other side are The Possessed, who work for The Storm’s triumph. They are:
- Bandit, as the mighty Ikazuchi, gets ready to shock foes in his path.
- Maestro, as Mononofu, stands guard and prevents intrusion.
- Kapkan, now called Hagane, prowls the zone and is ready to pounce.
- Thunderbird, bearing the name Taoyame, swoops into battle like a gale.
- Rook, as Tachikaze, bides his time to neutralize threats.
The Weapons
In Rengoku, Operators carry shotguns and pistols along with the one-hit kill explosive Kiba. Twitch, Capitão, Zofia, Kapkan, Bandit, and Maestro can choose between the Flashback or Knockback Kiba. Meanwhile, Fuze, Osa, Rook, and Thunderbird can choose between a Fire or Poison Kiba.
The Items
This new event also introduces the Rengoku Collection. It has uniforms, headgear, weapons skins, and Operator Card Portraits for the Rengoku competitors. There is also the Battlefield Spirit Bundle which has a signature weapon skin, a universal attachment skin, charm, and background.
The Rengoku Collection packs can be obtained by finishing the special Event Challenges. For those who think they won’t be able to complete the challenges, not to worry since they’re available for 300 R6 Credits or 12,500 Renown each. Meanwhile, the individual Bundles are being offered at 1,680 R6 Credits each.
