Rainbow Six Siege has been praised by many as a hardcore first-person shooter, so to dedicated community members, performance is all about stats. Believe it or not, however, Ubisoft quietly disabled all tracking features over the past few weeks despite previously denying the act. Increased server load prompted the adjustment.
Trouble began about a week ago when the Siege faithful started noticing their ratios, ranks and Operator stats weren’t displaying in leaderboards as they properly should. When asked if the information was still being recorded, Ubisoft community manager Craig Robinson said “they are being tracked, just not displayed.”
With the recent release of update 2.1.1 and stabilized gameplay conditions, however, the story has since changed. “The stats were not being tracked,” Robinson clarified a few hours ago. “We had to disable the system completely in order to lessen the server load as opposed to just disabling the display of stats.”
In other words, if you recently had some amazing, MVP-worthy matches in ranked, they’ll never be remembered. This applies to individual rankings and standings with specific Operators. Any achievements or trophies dependent on those numbers also won’t be earned before recouping the lost time.
With the recent launch of For Honor and the Ghost Recon Wildlands beta, rampant community speculation suggests the increased server load required for those titles mandated disabling stats in Rainbow Six Siege. However, it’s worth pointing out that this game has suffered from Uplay connection issues long before now. While simultaneous launches are a solid potential culprit, their impact on Siege isn’t officially clear.
Rainbow Six Siege update 2.1.1 went live yesterday and introduced dozens of fixes for specific operators including Mira. Users are already reporting new bugs, but many of the old ones were fixed.
Rainbow Six Siege is available now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
