Rainbow Six Siege Sweden Major has concluded its first playday of Group Stage. The 16 participating teams will be split into four groups and they will play in a double round-robin group format. Only two teams from each group will qualify for the Playoffs.
Team Empire vs. SpaceStation Gaming
This match was played on Villa, which is a defender-sided map. SSG started the match on defense and opted to play the Aviator site first. Empire cleared out the map and was able to get the plant down on the first round with only one SSG member remaining on site. SSG Alec "Fultz" Fultz was able to get four kills because Empire peeked him. Then Fultz baited the final player by faking the bomb defusal and when the opponent rushed to kill him. Fultz got out of the defusing animation and killed the final player of Empire.
The second round was pretty similar. Empire cleared the entire site and got the round to a 5v1 situation in their favor. But this time, SSG Nathanial "Rampy" Duvall clutched the round for his team. Empire pushed Rampy thinking they had the advantage, however, Rampy was able to get three kills. After that, Rampy ran into the site and killed the planter in the final second to clutch the round for his team. SSG kept this momentum and was able to win the first half with a 5-1 scoreline.
After the side switch, Empire played extremely well even though they were at a disadvantage. Empire was able to win every round because they took advantage of SSG’s mistakes and turned it around to win the round. Empire was able to take the match to 6-6 overtime. The final round was very intense, yet Rampy got a triple kill, which helped his team get into the site and win the round. SSG won the game with a 7-5 scoreline. Both Rampy and Fultz carried their team with 12 kills each.
